Why Do I Do It FREE? Am I MAD?

Allow me to introduce myself as Jon, a self taught computer based creative designer. Yes, I probably am mad, but I really enjoy the challenge of designing good looking artwork and realised that people might be able to make use of it. So, I set this website up to advertise the fact that I will design (dzign!) stuff for you ...FREE!

Why do I do it free? I do it free because I get satisfaction from doing the work and seeing a job completed. Also because I don't want to be fighting for business with flashy design companies who will probably win you over with their advertising. Also because it's not my "day job", it's more of a hobby really.

The service I provide is intended for private individuals who might be say, be having a birthday party for a child and would like some invitations to send out. Or someone who runs a small home business and would benefit from having business cards to promote it - without having to buy hundreds! Or someone who is organising an event and would like some flyers or posters to advertise it. And of course charities (especially the smaller ones) who often do sterling work on a shoestring budget.

The artwork can be sent by email or disc, so you can either print the items yourself on your own computer or pass them to a printing company for a professional finish.

There are no catches to my offer, but please note the following ...

  • I offer free work to private individuals, charities and small home based businesses.
  • I don't do free work for large companies or commercial concerns.
  • There are plenty of companies out there that will charge you for this kind of work who are far more professional and will be able to provide more technically advanced work for you.
  •  I don't get involved with anything I consider in bad taste, offensive or inappropriate.
  • I reserve the right to turn down work without explanation.

Finally ...it really is true that I will design your artwork for you free. However, by request I have provided a button that will enable you to make a voluntary donation should you wish to. There is no obligation and any amount given will be entirely at your discretion.

I would like to say "thank you" for the donations already received. It was suggested that I let you know that the button takes you to a secure payment site and allows payment by credit or debit card and PayPal.

Many thanks - Jon
